The City of Tampere is located in the middle of Finland with 250,000 inhabitants. City of Tampere is a local authority responsible for urban development and has a long history and actively developing ITS systems and services. Big infrastructure projects like a new tram system and the Central Deck and Arena are the latest urban scale development projects. 

The city offers a great platform to develop and implement new innovations. The goal is to add value to citizens’ everyday life, create new business opportunities for companies and to build a sustainable city together with the ITS Factory network. 

The ITS Factory is an active network that has operated in the region for a long time and has supported collaboration between different parties and the creation of new solutions with companies, universities, R&D organisations and public entities.
