KU Leuven’s CiTiP (Centre for IT and IP Law) is a research centre at the Faculty of Law of KU Leuven dedicated to advancing and promoting legal knowledge about the information society through research and teaching of the highest quality in the areas of Data Protection, Privacy and Information Security Law, New Media and Communications Law, Information Rights Management. 

Its research is focused on the design of innovative legal engineering and risk management techniques and is characterised by its intra- and interdisciplinary approach, constantly aspiring to cross-fertilisation between legal, technical, economic and socio-cultural perspectives. The centre is among the founding members of the Leuven Centre on Information and Communication Technology (LICT) and imec, a world-leading research and innovation hub in nanoelectronics and digital technologies. With over 85 researchers, CITIP has a solid track as a law and ethics partner of large European research projects. 

In DeployEMDS, it will build on and seek to expand the knowledge created on data regulation, governance in data sharing and data spaces projects (horizontal and sectorial focus) (e.g. Pimcity, Musketeer, Kraken, TRUSTS, Safe-DEED, EUH4D, DSSC) and mobility/transport legal expertise (e.g. Concorda, in2Dreams, Mobidatalab and PrepDSpace4Mobility).
